W1_wimbo_Tuckman Analysis Assignment-

W1_Wimbo_Tuckman Analysis Assignment

Start at 8 September 2012 after we complete to finished 5 days class room. I try to collect information regarding development stage using Tuckman’s model. The Tuckman model are represented of 4 stage development team “Forming Stage”, “Storming Stage”,  “Norming stage” and “Performing Stage”.

Result of the Assessment
The assessment survey on me using behavior based on Tuckman with 32 questionnaires took only about 15 minutes by using the scoring system. The survey scores listed and calculated into scoring template to identify the total score for each development stage.
My score summary for each stage of  shown as below :
  • Forming Stage-total scores                :   28
  • Storming Stage-total scores               :   28
  • Norming Stage-total scores                 :   28
  • Performing Stage-total scores             :   30
Where are we?
As shown in the above result, Performing Stage is the highest score and have 3 stage with similar score. However all stage in general is same with small different score. This condition indicated that in the beginning of first week “MAHAKAM 13”  team's behaviors in highly variable or no clear perception of the way team operating.
MAHAKAM 13 still needs to be instructed and assisted and they are not able yet to do the delegated tasks .
What leadership style should we be adopting?
Refer to the characteristic of survey scoring result that indicate that no big different for each stage, project or program manager should be adopting one of the leadership models from Hersey and Blanchard Situational Leadership which is “ Telling Style “ – the leaders have to give direction to the team member.

Conclusions
MAHAKAM 13 team in present operating no clear perception of the team direction to operate, this is as what shown by the scoring result. The leadership style recommended for this condition is “Telling Style” for project managers and program manager.

Hmmmmm........ As part of my philosophy that you "Work Smart, Not Hard" didn't I urge you to read over other peoples postings BEFORE you made this one?

And didn't I provide a template to you with clear instructions that you follow the 7 Step Process as shown on page 7, Table 1-1 of your Engineering Economy?

And weren't those instructions clear that you were supposed to be using a MINIMUM of 3 references, with each of them properly cited using APA Format? http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/

I will accept this weeks posting as submitted, but for the future, if you do not use the template I provided to you and you do not reference your weekly postings with a minimum of 3 citations, I will reject that weeks blog posting and you will have to do it over again.

So while there was nothing wrong with your CONTENT, the format you used was not acceptable. And do you remember WHY I wanted you to use the format from Engineering Economy? Because it will help you prepare for the very difficult and challenging "Part 2" narrative questions on your PSP, CEP and EVP exams. It will also help you in writing your CCC/E paper.

Looking forward to seeing a much better formatted W2 blog posting, understanding that starting now, you are free to pick any topic you want.
